2. In the past, it was a merchant city and has been known as the “nation’s kitchen” (天下の台所 tenka no daidokoro) and was the center for the rice trade during the Edo period (1603–1868)

3. Do you also know, that Osaka was formerly known as Naniwa and was once Japan’s capital city

4. Osaka is just 15 minutes away from Kyoto (also a great tourist destination)
